Youth Girls U18 in action

New Youth Girls Coach: Max Friend

I would like to formally introduce myself to the players, parents and officials of the Drummoyne 18s Youth girls team.

I am excited to take on the coaching position for 2015 and to work with a very talented team and great club. I have 5 years experience coaching the Glebe Greyhounds and have been assistant coach of inner city representative teams on a number of occasions. This year I have also been appointed head coach of the Balmain Dockers Women’s AFL team. This relationship with the Dockers will provide great opportunities throughout the year for the Drummoyne girls to experience higher levels of football.

I have a genuine interest in coaching and instruction and have a passion for AFL and its development in the Sydney area. When I am not coaching or playing football, I work as a teacher at Kingsgrove High School.

In 2015 I want to build on the previous successful year experienced by the Drummoyne girls, developing skills in a fun and pleasant environment for players, parents and all officials. I would like to work closely with the Drummoyne girls 14s team and Balmain women’s club to make transitioning to higher levels of football easier while introducing players to new skills and playing standards.

In the interests of building the team and the club, I would like to call on everyone involved with the Drummoyne girls to start recruiting as many new players as possible. I look forward to meeting the team, parents over the next few weeks as the football season begins.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or queries.
