Round One: U8 Teal

U8 Teal vs Easts Bulldogs

Round 1, Saturday 1 April 2017

After a long off-season and a preseason interrupted by rain, the first game of the season took place on a beautiful sunny morning at Trumper Park, Padddington where Drummoyne Power Under 8 Teal took on East Sydney Bulldogs. Playing at the north end of the field, Drummoyne Power was very strong in the first term of the game scoring plenty of points and defending well.

The first term started with a good mark being taken by Isaac from a big clearance kicks from Sam. Some good team work from a clearing kick from Adam to find Freddie who then kicked it to Leif who then kicked a goal. Some excellent marking in defence by Freddie and Xavier saw a close finish to the first term.

In the second term, the team clicked into gear with marks, handballs and kicks going from player to player, resulting in a goal. Freddie was involved again kicking the ball to Thomas who marked then played on to Adam who kicked a behind. Dean and Sam combined to deliver a behind for Drummoyne, then other combinations started to form. Dean, Adam and Xavier working hard together to fight for the ball.

Drummoyne tried really hard in the third term, with Power scoring one goal from a nice kick from Max to Leif to Isaac who scored. Freddie tried to smother ball, winning possession for his side.

All in all, Drummoyne played really well, with excellent hand passing, kicking, marking and calling team mates names.
