Under 10 Silver Match Report: Round 4

Drummoyne Silver U10 vs Newtown White U10

Round 4, Drummoyne Oval

What a glorious day for footy – playing at home with the sun shining & the waft of cooking bacon blowing across the ground.

It was evident from the first few passages of play that the mighty Silvers were up against a quality opposition that jumped out of the gates with a first quarter burst of 4 goals… aided by a stiff breeze. Undeterred Tim set each player their task & a great effort was produced to get us back into contention. Ben pulled in a great grab, scored a goal & missed another 3 by a whisker, Laura also steered one through the  big sticks, Tom pushed himself hard to try & quell the impact of No.38 & put a long one through on the run.

Young Lachy was as dependable as ever covering every inch of the ground & punching well above his weight. Patman kept space between himself & the defenders by continually finding space in the forward line whilst both Charlies placed some solid tackles on an elusive opposition. Ryan & Lachlan Mc both had big defensive days & Toby threw himself in hard only to find himself in the hands of the St’ Johns Medical Staff (hope you are ok Toby). Big Jack is beginning to use his size to advantage & took a great overhead mark to boot.

Faced with a very good opposition the Silvers stood tall & gave it their all indicating that we can look forward to some very entertaining football from them as the season progresses.
