U10 Blacks: Round 2 Match Report

Drummoyne Power U10 Black v Concord Giants

After much doubt over whether this game would go ahead or not it turns out we squeezed this week’s game in between grounds being closed.

With Charlie as captain for the week, the team looked a little jaded in the early phases of the game with the Giants shrugging off the Power’s usually strong tackling and dominating the first quarter, leaving the Power scoreless despite the efforts of Ethan and Zac.

The second quarter saw Drummoyne start to get into the game a bit more with a goal from Zac and a behind from Max.  The defence and midfield also started to gel a bit more with Nick and Kevin getting more into the game and good build up place from Phoenix and great tackling from Cooper and Ethan.

The third quarter saw Drummoyne start to build more pressure, Ashwin, James and Liam all started to make their presence felt and Sebastian’s arrival added more movement to midfield.  All this work paid dividends with two goals from Zac and Dallas and behinds for Fraser and Max.

A bit like the Swans, the Power came home with a wet sail, Summer and James showed great intensity and Dallas tackled like a man possessed.  Max added another goal and Cooper was unlucky with a behind.

MVP- 1. Zac, 2. Max, 3. Charlie, 4. Dallas, 5.  Nick

Well done team!
