Season Launch and Swans Visit

Updated: 2.30pm 15 March.

We’ll be going ahead with the Season Launch at Five Dock Park today, Tuesday 15 March.

The Canada Bay Council advises us that Five Dock Park is OPEN and so we’re going to push ahead and hope the rain holds off.

U5-U8 will train from 4.30-5.30 then we’ll have pizza, hand out your Auskick packs and shorts/socks for new players. We’ll need parents to lend a hand giving out the packs and pizza.

Juniors and Youth girls, we’ll have a second delivery of pizza after your training session at 6.30.

Don’t forget the extra training session for the Swans Visit on Thursday 17 March. We’ll have a visit from a Swans player/s and some training drills on Taplin Park (right next to Drummoyne Oval, via Cometrowe Street) from 5pm-6.30pm.

Pre-season has started

Pre-season training has started for all age groups, so now is the time to make sure you are registered.

  • Auskick U5-U8 train at Five Dock Park at 4.30pm on Tuesdays.
  • Juniors U9-u11 and Youth Girls train at Five Dock Park at 5.30pm on Tuesdays.

The Tuesday training schedule will continue until the end of March. In April, training for these teams will switch to Drummoyne Oval on Wednesdays.

For our Canada Bay Cannons U12-U17, please check the Canada Bay Cannons website for details.

Please note: some teams do make additions or variations to the official training schedule. If this happens, you’ll be notified at an age-group level.

You must be registered to train and play. Even if you are unable to train in pre-season due to summer sport commitments, coaches and managers are making team selections, so make sure your name is on our lists!

More information and links to registration are on this site.

Information and Registration Day TODAY SATURDAY 6 FEB

Registrations are now open:

* Register here for Auskick registrations (U5s to U8s)

* Register here for Juniors, Youth (Canada Bay Cannons) and Youth Girls (U9s to U17s and Youth Girls)

For further information about how to register, or costs of registration, head over to our main registration page.

We’ll be holding two information and registration days for people interested in registering for Drummoyne Power or our youth teams, the Canada Bay Cannons, in Season 2016.

We can help you register online, if you need it, but it is a great opportunity for people who may have questions about the Club or AFL, or may be considering volunteering in Season 2016, to have a chat to one of the Club officials.

Gear pickup will take place at our Season Launch, just before Round One (more details on that to come).

Information and Registration Days will be held on

  • Saturday 6th February 2016 – 11am to 2pm at Drummoyne Oval; and
  • Sunday 14th February 2016 – 11am to 2pm, Five Dock Park.

Hope to see you there!

Of course, if you just want to register online, we’ll catch up with you at pre-season training!

Call for Coaches and Managers

We need to lock in Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Managers for 2016

Drummoyne Power is a club run by parent volunteers and our coaches and managers are at the core of this.

While we’re doing well locking in coaches and managers in some age groups, we still need you! Our greatest need, this stage, is for u5s and our Junior teams (u9-u11).

We have over 30 teams ready to hit the field in 2016 across Power and the Canada Bay Cannons.  That’s over 60 coaches and managers at a minimum!

It would be great if we can also nominate as many assistant coaches and managers as possible, so please put your hand up even if you are only available or comfortable in an assistant role.

Auskick u5-u8

Contact our Auskick Coordinator Megan Chandra (if you haven’t already) about how to get involved in u5-u8 for season 2016.

Juniors u9-u11

If you were coach, assistant coach or manager last year for u8-u10 and would like to continue – GREAT! Email our Registrar Simon Osborne, Vice-President Milan Serovich or Manager Coordinator Damon Jones and let one of them know you’re up for another great season of footy.

If you are new to coaching and managing and can help out, download and return the Expression of Interest form (EOI Form Drummoyne Power) and return it to Registrar Simon Osborne.

Canada Bay Cannons u12-u17

Download the Canada Bay Cannons Volunteer Expression of Interest Form if you’re available to help out in any of our Cannons teams u12-u17 and return to Cannons Board Member Dean Lee.

Youth Girls

Use the Expression of Interest form for Drummoyne Power (EOI Form Drummoyne Power) and return to President Jeremy Stanwix.

More on how to get involved at a Club level here.

Wet weather update 17 June

Drummoyne Oval has closed, but we have alternatives for some teams for training tonight, Wednesday 17 June.

Here’s the plan (but if anything here conflicts with what your team manager says, go with your team manager.)

U5, U7 and U8: Five Dock Indoor Cricket Centre from 4.30-5.15. We can actually use the courts from 4pm, but coaches may not be there at that time.

U6: Training cancelled as your coaches can’t make it. (Desperate U6s who need a run can join in with U5s or U7s.)

U9: Five Dock Indoor Cricket Centre from 5.30pm.

U10 and up: the oval is closed and we can’t use passive areas of Taplin, but we can use hard surface areas and the middle grandstand, so it will be up to teams to make the call. Watch out for emails from your manager or coach.

U14 Cannons: training has been cancelled
