U17 Premiership Team

U17: Premiers for 2015

2015 Premiership winners

Congratulations to our U17 Division 2 team for their victory in the 2015 Grand Final.

Our U17s defeated Newtown-Wests for the Premiership. Nine points behind at quarter time, the second quarter belonged to Drummoyne with the Power taking the lead 28 points to 24 at half time. At three-quarter time, Power led 7-4 (46) to 6-1 (37) but the Black Swans weren’t giving up and inched within 3 points of the lead, with just 5 minutes on the clock.

The Power came back strongly, with two goals to seal victory. The final score 10-7 (67) to 8-2 (50).

We had two other teams playing Grand Finals and while our U14/1 Canada Bay Cannons team and U18 Youth Girls did not win their respective games, they can be enormously proud of their seasons. A full gallery of photos is available on the Facebook pages of both Drummoyne Power and Canada Bay Cannons. Both pages can be viewed without a Facebook account.

Mamie and Jeremy: Life Members

New Life Members

New Life Members

Congratulations to our newest life members, Drummoyne Power President Jeremy Stanwix and Canteen Coordinator Mamie McLean.

Both were awarded life membership of Drummoyne Power in 2016 in recognition of their extraordinary contributions to the Club.

Jeremy has been President of the Club for the past two years, and prior to that was the Vice-President. He also a regular ground manager and, to top it off, was also the manager for the U18 Youth Girls team in 2015.

Mamie is known and loved by all in our Club. She has been the Canteen Coordinator for the past few years. As well as spending many hours in the canteen on home game days, Mamie is also responsible for all of the behind the scenes logistics in operating a canteen.

Thank you Jeremy and Mamie, we appreciate all you do.

(And well done to the Board, who managed to keep Jeremy’s life membership a secret from him until it was announced at the End of Season Function recently.)
